New due date
is now by November 13, 2009. Advise when you have uploaded it to Geotracker.
From: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 10:32 AM
To: 'Carrow, John (PSC)'
Cc: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: Sara Lee Center Street Stockton
John,
Conducting the investigation by CPT is acceptable. Target depth should address the interval included in
the screens of MW-2A and MW-5A. Using CPT, you can identify the coarser grained, more permeable
portions of the target interval, which are what I'd like to see addressed by groundwater sampling. The
specific depth is less important than making sure you sample the same unit impacted in MW-2A. I believe
MW-2A bottoms at 55 feet bsg, so deeper may not be better unless the unit'dives' laterally. If you have a
technical reason for sampling deeper, the EHD will certainly consider it.
believe Mike has already responded to you regarding a due date extension. If I can be of further
assistance, please let me know.
Nuel Henderson
From: Carrow,John (PSC) [mailto:JCarrow@pscnow.com]
Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 8:16 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: Anderson, Paul (PSC); Fahnestock, Curt(PSC); Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: Sara Lee Center Street Stockton
Mike,
Thanks for calling me back yesterday. After discussion with Nuel Henderson regarding data gaps at the
Center Street site,I believe the best course of action for Sara Lee is to perform a CPT investigation at three
locations:
below the 55 foot depth in the source area,
at and below the 55 foot depth between MW-2A and MW-5A;and
at and below the 55 foot depth near MW4.
Of course details of the investigation will be presented in the plan. The work plan shouldn't take long to
complete, but just in case,we would like to request an extension of November 10,2009. We appreciate
your cooperation with this matter. If you have any questions please give me a call.
John R.Carrow,RG
PSC Remediation Services Group
618-792-2468
10/27/2009
