{
I read the recommendations in the MW install and QMR about the UST you think is
north of the MW5's..
wouldn't get your hopes up, but I'm making an apt with my Geo to discuss it. Put
yourself in this landowners position for a moment. Your neighbor gets the EHD on
you to investigate a possible UST in the sidewalk because you think it's affecting
your investigation??? my experience has shown, little to no cooperation w/o proof.
either way, I'll be generating a response letter and I'll include our
thoughts/comments on it.
don't stop progressing on the site until this ghost UST thing is settled. Whether
there's a 'source' or not north of MW5's, your contam at MW-2 is real and too high to
leave in place unremediated. plan on a PAR or SCM to discuss fully the nature and
extent of the plume. I'm interested in your 'delineation' conclusions in the 'core'
area.
With MW-2 and 2A both exceeding gw concentration concerns for doing nothing,
you're still not vertically defined in this core area. Plus, older C-3 had deep gw hits of
concern back in Nov 07 and now C-6, and C-8 have elevated gw hits too and
no MW is close so stopping progress now is not a good idea.
you'll need to be defined to start a corrective action unless you feel (and can prove)
interim remediation is warranted. I see no treat to sensitive receptors, do you? so
plan on delineation work to continue and all the time think remediation alternatives.
be sure to include soil and gw iso-con maps for each depth of concern in
reports/SCMs...(first and A zone)...
give me a call if you want to talk.
also, call me for apt to do First QM- 2009...
From: Anderson, Paul [mailto:PAnderson@pscnow.com]
Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2009 9:27 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: Reply to voice Mail (1st QMR 2009) - Global ID # T0607700632, Case #2371, Sara Lee 1717
South Center Street, Stockton
Mike,
I just received your voice mail today. I was out of the office last Friday and yesterday.
Your voice mail was with regard to the various non-standard analytical constituents that
were performed during the first quarterly event of 2009.
We decided to include these parameters at the last minute as a means to gather some
information regarding natural attenuation for the site.
We also wanted to use the additional information to assist in determining remedial
alternatives as part of a subsequent feasibility study / remedial evaluation for the site.
Obviously, there is residual contamination, perhaps even some off-site source
contamination coming onto the property.
Performing the natural attenuation parameters during the first quarter was a means to
simply gather some additional information.
2/25/2009
