Air is injected into the subsurface
through air sparging well SP-1 and soil vapors are extracted from vapor extraction well VW-1
and groundwater monitoring well MW-2 (Figure 2): The soil vapors are passed through two
2,000-pound carbon filters, connected in series, prior to discharge to the atmosphere. Vapor
from the influent, between-carbon vessels, and effluent streams of the treatment system have ,
been monitored on a weekly basis during system operation, in accordance with a permit issued
by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
REMEDIATION EVALUATION
The following sections present an evaluation of the progress.of remediation and the rationale for
the request to shut down the remediation system.
PSC ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
210 West Sand Bank Road,Columbia,IL 62236
(618)281-1543 (800)733-7173 Fax(618)281-7020
I
