MAY 1 9 2003 <br /> Lll' �,=,a,ENT HEALTH <br /> May'16;2003f CES <br /> Project 62401510 <br /> Mr Michael Infurna Jr, Senior REHS <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> Subject: April 2003 Groundwater Monitoring <br /> 1717 South Center Street - Stockton, California <br /> At your request, Philip Environmental Services Corporation (PESC) performed <br /> groundwater monitoring at the subject site to evaluate current and evolving <br /> groundwater conditions potentially affected by a former underground storage tank <br /> (UST) that had operated at this property Site information and April 2003 <br />' monitoring results are contained in the following sections <br /> Site Location <br /> The site is located at 1717 South Center Street, on the northwest corner of South <br /> Center Street and Third Street in Stockton, California (see Figure 1, Vicinity <br /> Map) Up to 1988, this property was operated by Kilpatrick's Bakeries, Inc as a <br /> bakery products storage depot The current property owner, Mr Jerry Gregersen <br /> of Stockton, California, leases the site to an auto body and furniture repair <br /> business <br /> The property comprises about 9,000 square feet of area, including an <br /> approximately 4,000 square feet, sheet metal-constructed building that is built on <br /> a slab-on-grade spread footing (see Figure 2, Site Plan) There is no basement <br /> structure associated with this building The majority of the site and the area <br /> around the former UST are paved with asphalt or concrete <br />' Other properties in the vicinity comprise a mix of commercial and residential <br /> properties Edison High School is situated about 3 blocks to the north An <br />' operating gasoline station, which is the subject of an existing San Joaquin County <br /> leaking UST case, is located about I block to the north on the east side of South <br /> Center Street The closest private residence to the former UST area is situated <br />' about 150 feet to the southwest The closest surface water body is the Mormon <br /> Slough, located about 4,500 feet to the north <br /> PHILIP ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES CORPORATION <br />' 210 West Sand Bank Road•Pa Box 230•Columbia, IL 62236-0230 <br /> (618) 281-7173•(800)733-7173•Fax(618)281-5120 <br />
