t i <br /> -- 1 Septe�nbr 24, 2001 <br /> 1, <br /> Prod&t 62401510 <br /> Mr Michael Infuma Jr, Senior REHS <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> LOP/Site Mitigation Unit <br /> ' 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> iDear Mr Infurna <br /> Subject: Subsurface Site Investigation Workplan <br />' 17.17 South Center Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> As you requested, Philip Services Corporation (PSC) is providing a workplan to <br /> assess the extent of petroleum-impacted soil and groundwater in the vicinity of a <br /> former gasoline underground storage tank(UST) that was located at the subject <br /> site This workplan proposes to drive six probeholes, drill one borehole and install <br /> one groundwater monitoring well within it to collect soil and groundwater <br /> samples for chemical analysis In addition, this workplan proposes to install one <br /> groundwater sparging well and one soil vapor extraction well to prepare for future <br /> site remedial activities Descriptions of the site, previous UST related work, <br />' subsurface conditions, and proposed work are contained in the following sections <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located at 1717 South Center Street, on the northwest corner of South <br /> Center Street and Third Street in Stockton, California(see Figure 1, Vicinity Map, <br /> in Attachment 1) Up to 1988, this property was operated by Kilpatrick's <br /> Bakeries, Inc as a bakery products storage depot The current property owner, <br /> Mr Jerry Gregersen of Stockton, California, leases the site to an auto body repair <br />' business <br />' The property comprises about 9,000 square feet of area, including an <br /> approximately 4,000 square feet, sheet metal-constructed building that is built on <br /> a slab-on-grade spread footing (see Figure 2, Site Plan) There is no basement <br /> structure associated with this building The majority of the site and the area <br /> around the former UST are paved with asphalt or concrete <br />' Other properties in the vicinity comprise a mix of commercial and residential <br /> properties Edison High School is situated about 3 blocks to the north An <br /> •' operating gasoline station, which is the subject of an existing San Joaquin County <br /> "PHIMP ENV1R0NMEN7A1 SERVICES CORPORA77ON" <br /> 210 West Sand Bank Road • Po Box 230 • Columbia,11 62236 0230 <br /> (G 18)281-7173 • (800)733 7173 Fax(618)281 5120 � <br />
