• 2 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
On behalf of PSC, ETIC performed the fourth quarterly groundwater-monitoring
event on November 9, 2005 The data are presented in the following sections
Summary tables for groundwater elevations and analytical results are included as
attached Tables 1 through 4 Site maps for groundwater elevations and analytical
results are included as attached Figures 1 through 4 Field data sheets are included in
Appendix A Laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix B
1 2.1 Groundwater Monitoring Procedures
Groundwater elevations were obtained from four monitoring wells MW-1
1 through MW-4 Groundwater levels and the potential presence of free phase
gasoline product were measured in each well prior to sampling utilizing an
electronic oil/water interface probe
Groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis from the
following wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4
Prior to sample collection and if possible, the wells were purged a minimum
of three well-casing volumes with a dedicated Waterra sampling system in
order to collect a representative sample Water quality parameters of the
purged water (pH, conductivity, temperature, and the visual observation of
water clarity) were measured utilizing field instruments The purged water
' was stored in a 55-gallon drum and the drum was transported to a PSC
licensed waste disposal facility
Upon purging the appropriate volume of groundwater, sample aliquots were
retrieved and placed in laboratory provided containers The containers were
properly labeled, stored on ice in a cooler, and transported under chain-of-
custody The samples were then submitted to STL, a California-certified
laboratory located in Pleasanton, California Groundwater samples were
analyzed for BTEX, TPH-g, and the oxygenate analytes (TBA, MTBE, DIPE,
ETBE, and TAME) by EPA Method 8260B
2.2 Groundwater Elevation Measurements
Free product was not observed in the wells, based on the measurements
obtained utilizing the oil/water interface probe
Groundwater elevations decreased approximately 168 feet from the previous
event During this event, the average depth to groundwater in the wells was
28 44 feet bgs (-18 68 feet msl) The elevations ranged from —19 03 feet to
7
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
4th Quarter-November 2005
Prepared for SARA LEE BAKERY GRotlp,INC Prepared by PSC Environmental Services
Instigative and Quarterly Report 14th Quarterly Report 112005 doe February 24 2006
