Z GROUNDWATER MONITORING
On behalf of PSC, Kleinfelder performed the quarterly groundwater-monitoring on
July 26, 2005 The data are presented in the following sections Summary tables for
' groundwater elevations and analytical results are Included as attached Tables 1
through 4 Site maps for groundwater elevations and analytical results are Included as
attached Figures 1 through 4 Field data sheets are included in Appendix A
' Laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix B
1 2.1 Groundwater Monitoring Procedures
Groundwater elevations were obtained from four monitoring wells MW-1
through MW-4 Groundwater levels and the potential presence of free phase
gasoline product were measured in each well prior to sampling utilizing an
electronic oil/water Interface probe In addition, prior to purging the wells,
1 the first bailer of purge water was visually checked for evidence of free
product
Groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis from the
following wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4
Prior to sampling and if possible, the wells were purged a minimum of three
well-casing volumes with a dedicated bailer In order to collect a representative
sample Water quality parameters of the purged water (pH, conductivity,
' temperature, and the visual observation of water clanty) were measured
utilizing field instruments The purged water was stored in 55-gallon drums
and transported to PSC's licensed California waste disposal facility
Upon purging the appropriate volume of groundwater, sample aliquots were
retrieved and placed in laboratory provided containers The containers were
' properly labeled and stored in on ice in a cooler and transported under chain-
of-custody The samples were then submitted a California-certified laboratory
located in Pleasanton, California Groundwater samples were analyzed for
tBTEX by EPA Method 8021, TPH-G by EPA Method 8015, and the
oxygenate analytes (TBA, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME) by EPA Method
' 8260B
2.2 Groundwater Elevation Measurements
' Free product was not observed in the wells, based on the measurements
obtained utilizing the oil/water Interface probe and the visual observations
•
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
July 2005
' Prepared for SARA LEE BAKERY GROUP,INC Prepared by Philip Services Corporation
Invesugatrve and Quarterly Report 53rd Quarterly Report 07_2005(final) September 23,2005
