INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr Roger Huckms, Advanced GeoEnvlronmental,Inc (AGE)has
prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 1201 South Center Street, Stockton,,
California (the site) The,scope of work included conducting a ground water monitoring event for
' the five on-site montonng wells and preparation of this report The location of the site and the
immediately surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1, structures and monitoring well locations
on the site are illustrated on Figure 2
I ,
1
2.0. BACKGROUND
'
According to Foothill Engineering's (FE) Work Plan - Phase 2 Site Investigation, 1201 S Center '
Street,Stockton, CA,dated 28 May 1999,two 500-gallon and one 8,500-gallon gasoline underground
' storage tanks (UST 1, UST 2 and UST 3, respectively) were removed from the site by Jim Thorpe
Oil on 26 October 1994 Ten soil samples were analyzed from the excavation soil stockpile, the UST
excavations and the product piping by GeoAnalytical Labs Each sample contained detectable
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons FE reported that the highest concentrations were
encountered near the west end of UST 3 (Figure 2) The excavation was backfilled to surface grade
' following sample collection
On 28 April 1998, two soil borings, PB1 and MW1, were advanced near the former UST land-
UST 2 location and in the former UST 3 location, respectively Bonng PB1 was advanced to a depth
of 30 feet below surface grade (bsg) for the collection of soil and ground water samples Analyzed
samples contained total petroleum-hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) at concentrations
' as high as 14,100 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg)in soil and 1,000,000 micrograms per liter(gg/1) '
in the `grab' groundwater sample Soil samples collected from the pilot boring for MW-1 contained
TPH-g and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) to total depth of the boring
' (50 feet bsg) The vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and groundwater was not determined
at either location ''
L 3 1
fFour additional ground water monitoring wells were installed by FE betwen 08 and 12 March 1999
Analyzed soil samples' collected from monitoring well pilot borings (MW-2A and MW-3A)
contained detectable concentrations of target analytes to total depths of both borings (120 feet bsg
and,1051feet bsg, respectively) TPH-g was detected in soil samples collected at depths as great as
105 feet bsg and BTEX constituents to depths as great as 120 feet bsg Figure 2 illustrates former
UST and monitoring well locations The vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil was not _
defined at either location ;
1
I
Advanced GeoEnvtronmentat,Inc
ti
I
I
1
