I . 14 January 2005
` AGE-NC Project No 00-0769
The fuel additive 1,2 DCA was detected at a concentration of 15 µg/1 in the sample collected from
' well MW-4E
' No other constituents of concern were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the water
samples collected during the second quarter sampling event Analytical results of ground water
samples are summarized in Tables 2 through 5 The laboratory reports(CTEL Project Nos CT214-
' 0405158 and CT214-0405169), quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and chain of
custody forms are provided in Appendix C Documents confirming the upload of laboratory
electronic deliverable format (EDF) files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are
' included in Appendix D
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on data collected during the May 2004 ground water monitoring event, AGE concludes
Depth to ground water at the site vaned from 25 45 feet and 30 08 feet below the s of the to
• p p
' well casings, ground water elevation at the site ranged from 15 85 feet to 19 02 feet below
MSL during the May 2004 monitoring event
• HU-1 generally flowed east to southeast at 0 003 ft/ft, HU-2 generally flowed southeast at
' 0 001 ft/ft,HU-3 generally flowed east at 0 001 ft/ft,HU-4 flowed generally toward the north
at an average gradient of 0 012 ft/ft (Figures 3 through 6)
I The most highly impacted ground water appears to be located near the former USTs
Vertically, hydrocarbon-impacted ground water was detected in each of the screened
intervals of multi-level wells MW-4 through MW-7, and in the "C" level of well MW-9
' Analytes of concern were not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in cross-
gradient multi-level well MW-8
' 0 1,2-DCA and BTEX compounds were present above the DHS's Maximum Contaminant
Levels (MCLs) in all levels of the multi-level well MW-4 No MTBE was detected in any
samples from this monitoring event
• The lateral extent of the dissolved 1,2-DCA appears to be limited near the eastern edge of
the site The vertical extent of dissolved 1,2-DCA is poorly defined off-site
I In general, the lateral and vertical extents of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water have not
been defined
I
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
r
