INTRODUCTION - y
1 In accordance with the request of Mr Roger Huckzns, Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has µ
prepared this quarterly report for-the property located at,1201 South Center Street, Stockton,
' California(the site) The scope of work included quarterly ground water monitoring for the fourth
quarter of 2000, measurement of depth to water in the five on-site montoring wells for the first
quarter 2001 and preparation of this report The location of the site and the immediately surrounding
' area are illustrated on Figure 1, structures and monitoring well locations on the site are illustrated
on Figure,2
2.0. BACKGROUND _
'- According to Foothill Engineering's (FE) Work Plan -Phase 2 Site Investigation, 1201 S Center
Street, Stockton, CA, dated 28 May 1999, two five-hundred gallon and one 8,500-gallon gasoline
i underground storage tanks (UST 1, UST 2 and UST 3, respectively)were removed from the site by
Jun Thorpe Oil on 26 October 1994 Ten soil samples were analyzed from the excavation soil
stockpile, the UST excavations and the product piping by GeoAnalytical Labs Each sample
contained detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons - FE reported that the highest -
concentrations were encountered near the west end of UST 3 (Figure 2) The excavation was
backfilled to surface grade following sample collection
On 28 Apnl 1998, soil boring PB 1 was advanced near UST 1 and UST 2 to a depth of 30 feet below
surface grade,(bsg) for the collection of soil samples Analyzed samples contained total petroleum-
'hydrocarbons,
etroleum'hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) at concentrations as high as 14,100 milligrams per ;
kilogram(mg/kg) Additionally, samples collectedfrom the pilot boring for MW 1 on 28 April 1998
contained high concentrations of TPH-g and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes
' (BTEX) to a depth of fifty feet bsg
a ,
Four additional groundwater monitoring wells were installed by FE betwen 08 and 12 March 1999
' Analyzed soil samples collected from monitoring well pilot' borings contained detectable
concentrations of TPH-g to depths as great as 105 feet bsg and BTEX constituents to depths as great
as 120' bsg Figure 2 illustrates former UST and monitoring well locations
3.0. PROCEDURES ,
s
1 , 4
Quarterly ground water monitoring was performed on 26 December 2000 Additionally, depth to
water was measured in the five monitoring wells on 30 March 2001 Field work was performed 3n
accordance with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) and San
"i Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) guidelines for
4dvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
..
