The current site address is 1034 Central Avenue and is occupied by a Wells <br /> Fargo Bank building and an associated parking lot. <br /> • The subject property was. previously occupied by a Unocal Service Station from <br /> approximately August 1921 until September 1965. During the period Unocal occupied <br /> the site, the site address was 8 East 1 lth Street. <br /> • During the initial station construction, three underground storage tanks (2-500 gallon <br /> and 1-1,000 gallon) were installed in the northwest portion of the site. The USTs <br /> extended beneath the sidewalk. Additional USTs (2,600-gallon, 4,000-gallon, and <br /> 6,000-gallon) were installed between 1938 and 1950. There was no documentation- <br /> regarding the removal of any USTs. <br /> • The service station was closed on September 3Q, 1965. Some of the equipment <br /> appears to have been moved to the Tracy Marketing Station. <br /> • Six service stations formerly operated in the immediate vicinity of the subject property. <br /> 1. Northwest comer of 11th Street and Central Avenue - A service station (Shell - 5 <br /> W. 11th Street) occupied this property during the period of approximately 1949 to <br /> 1962. This site is currently occupied by a real estate office building. <br /> 2. Northeast corner of 11th Street and Central Avenue - A gasoline dispensing facility <br /> occupied this property (3 E. 11th Street) during the period of approximately 1913 to <br /> at least 1962. Chevron appears to have been associated with this facility for at least <br /> a portion of this period based on early photographs in Unocal's real estate files. <br /> The property has also been occupied by an auto dealership. This site is currently <br /> occupied by a Salvation Army Thrift Store. <br /> 3. Northwest comer of 11th Street and El Portal Street - A service station (Sunland <br /> and Mobil - 47 E. 11th Street) occupied this property during the period of <br /> approximately 1949 to 1963. The property is currently used as a parking lot for the <br /> Salvation Army Thrift Store. <br /> 4. Northeast comer of 11th Street and El Portal Street - A service station (ARCO - 57 <br /> E. 11th Street) occupied this property during the period of approximately 1949 to <br /> 1980. The property is currently occupied by a commercial building. <br /> 5. Northeast comer of 11th Street and Adam Street - A service station occupied this <br /> property during the period of approximately 1954 to 1962. A Flying A Service <br /> Station/Phillips 76 Service Station is listed at 33 W. 11th Street through 1967. <br /> 6. Northwest comer of 11th Street and Adam Street - A service station occupied this <br /> property during the period of approximately 1954 to 1962. <br />
