Irutial investigations at the subject site were performed for Wells Fargo by L M Swift and <br /> Associates (LMS) As documented in reports dated January 8, 1994 and March 29, 1994, <br /> I <br /> four exploratory borings were dnlled on the property Petroleum hydrocarbons were <br /> detected in soil and groundwater samples collected by LMS <br /> In response to the findings of the LMS investigations, Unocal contracted Enviros, Inc and <br /> later PACIFIC to perform additional environmental investigations Prior to the current <br /> investigation, a total of thirteen exploratory borings, three groundwater monitoring wells, <br /> and three exploratory test pits had been installed at the site During the excavation of the <br /> exploratory test pits, two of the original underground fuel tanks in the sidewalk to the <br /> north of the site were encountered <br /> The cumulative findings of previous environmental investigations at the site were most <br /> recently summarized in a PACIFIC report dated November 22, 1995 <br /> FIELD ACTIVITIES <br /> The environmental activities documented below were performed in response to the <br /> identification of two of the original USTs, in the I I th Street sidewalk to the north of the <br /> former Unocal site The area of activities is shown on Figure 2 <br /> r � <br /> 3 i 00971 BaEPORT DOC <br />
