1 <br /> November 22, 1995 <br /> Page 5 <br />' from the potential source areas The well screen intervals were constructed to <br /> extend approximately 5 feet above first encountered groundwater, and. <br /> approximately 10 feet below the water table <br /> • Soil samples were collected at five-foot intervals from the exploratory borings <br /> and well borings Selected soil samples were submitted to a state-certified <br /> analytical laboratory, and analyzed for chemical constituents which were <br /> anticipated to be associated with former site usage These constituents include, <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbons calculated as gasohne (TPH-g), benzene, toluene, <br />' ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX compounds), by EPA Methods 801518020, <br /> and 5030 and Total Oil and Grease (TOG) Selected soil samples from the <br /> boring for Well U-3 located near the former waste oil tank were analyzed for <br /> TPH calculated as diesel (TPH-d)by EPA Method 3350, total oil and grease by <br /> EPA Methods 5520 E and F, purgeable halogenated hydrocarbons by EPA <br />' Method 8010, and the metals cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and zinc by <br /> EPA Method 6010 <br /> • Newly installed groundwater monitoring wells were developed by PACIFIC on <br /> May 26, 1995 Groundwater monitoring and sampling were performed by <br /> MPDS Services Inc (MPDS), Unocal's groundwater sampling contractor, on <br /> June 2, 1995 <br /> • Groundwater samples were submitted to a State-certified laboratory and analyzed <br />' for the presence of TPH-g, BTEX compounds by EPA Methods 801518020, and <br /> 5030 The groundwater sample from Well U-3 was analyzed for TPH-d by EPA <br /> Method 3350, TOG by EPA Method 5520 E and F, purgeable halogenated <br />' hydrocarbons by EPA Method 8010, and metals cadmium, chromium, lead, <br /> nickel, and zinc by EPA Method 6010 <br />' • U-1, U-2 and U-3 were surveyed in northings, eastings, and elevations on <br /> May 30, 1995 <br />' • Three exploratory test pits were excavated in the areas of the former USTs on <br /> June 26, 1995 <br /> The methods and procedures used by PACIFIC for exploratory bonngs, groundwater <br /> monitoring well construction and laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment A <br /> Well survey data, boring logs, and well construction details are presented as Attachment B <br /> t Soil analytical results are presented in Tables 1 through 3 Certified analytical reports for <br /> soil samples and field data sheets for well development are presented as Attachment C <br /> The MPDS Quarterly Data Report which contains the results of the groundwater <br /> monitoring event is presented as Attachment D <br /> } <br /> 3100971 AIREPORT _ <br />
