The Tracy Multimodal Station (trains, buses, etc.) would be
constructed on the site. Prior to the Rail Commission being able to acquire the
site from the UPRR we need to have a clean site (Refer to the attached
California Transportation Resolution G-91-2).
The Rail Commission received permission from the UPRR to conduct Phase II
Hazardous Materials Testing on the Tracy Multimodal Station site (SITE). The
Rail Commission hired Meinfelder to conduct the Phase II Hazardous Materials
Tests. A condition of our obtaining permission to conduct the Phase II
Hazardous Materials Testing was that we submit a copy of the test results to
Harry Patterson, UPRR. Kleinfelder's Report was mailed to Mr. Patterson on
May 18, 1998 (copy of letter attached).
COMMISSIONERS The Rail Commission also sent copies of Meinfelder's Report to the Mike
ROBERT J.CABRAL Inf Irma, San Joaquin County Public Health Service/Environmental Health
San Joaquin County Division and to Christine Holm, Regional Water Quality Control Board (refer
Board of Supervisors to attached transmittal letter). On June 22, 1998, I had a call from Wendy
GARY PODESTO Cohen, Regional Water Quality Control Board (916-255-3075), concerning the
City of Stockton SITE. Wendy had reviewed the Kleinfelder's Phase II Hazardous Materials
PHILLIP PENNINO Report. She said that there is definitely a ground water problem and additional
City of Lodi testing will be required. Wendy said that the RWQCB would be willing to
BRENT H.IVES provide project oversight for a fee.
City of Tracy
On June 26, 1998, Harry Montgomery, Multimodal Stations Coordinator,
WILLIAM PERRY SJRRC, called Ron Pang, UPRR Real Estate Department, San Francisco, (415-
City of Manteca
541-7053), to see how the UPRR wanted to handle the additional hazardous
EXECLMVE DIRECTOR
HENRY M.HIRATA sd121.1evy.wpd
