The first boring SB-3 is located on a
concrete drive, adjacent to the containment wall of the above ground tanks. At SB-3, there was
a slight indication that volatile aromatic products have been released in this area. At SB-4 the
previous dispenser location, there was no indication of a release of volatile aromatics. At SB-5,
which is at the North/East end of the underground storage tank there is a definite indication of
volatile aromatics in the subsurface starting immediately below the surface of the concrete pad
and extending down to approximately 13 feet. At 13 vertical feet along side of the tank, the
product that is present appears to be subsiding. These conclusions are based on the observations
of the soil and screening of the soils with the use of a Portable Photo Ionization Detector
(Thermodyne 580B).
If you have any questions regarding this update or are interested in possible remedial actions,
please call my office.
Sincerely,
APR 2 5 1594
Donald E.
