Charter Way
Stockton, CA. 95206
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS-EHD) has started a review of the "Evaluation of
Off-Site Sources" dated May 5, 1995 as submitted by EMCON and has
the following comments .
This site will be discussed at the next PHS-EHD Site Mitigation
staff meeting. Cursory review has raised concerns over areas of
on-site potential sources and the lack of information to support
the conclusions reached within the evaluation.
Recently, a soil investigation in the area of the underground
tanks on site has been conducted but the report of findings has
not been received at PHS-EHD. As soon as this data has been
submitted and reviewed, PHS-EHD will be better able to evaluate
your site' s status .
A shift in the groundwater gradient for the first quarter of
1995, along with high levels of contamination in the now
upgradient well (MW-5) , will require further time to evaluate
your conclusions .
PHS-EHD will advise you of their findings as soon as the pending
report is evaluated and the staff has concluded their
discussions .
Please direct any questions you may have to Michael Infurna at
(209) 468-34354 .
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
MichurnaSenior REHS Diane M.
