ARCO wishes to take advantage of these site
activities to coordinate the installation of a remediation system to treat petroleum-impacted groundwater
beneath the site. ARCO also has been asked by the owner to abandon monitoring well MW4 to make
way for the new car wash. During these activities, ARCO also will install three new shallow
groundwater wells to monitor lateral groundwater concentrations and confirm the effectiveness of the
treatment system.
This workplan includes discussions of site background and the proposed scope of work, with a schedule.
To address the concerns of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD),
discussed during our April 2005 meeting, that any sparging of air into a silty sand layer with a silt layer
above, possible acting as a confining layer, would cause petroleum-impacts to spread laterally, instead
URS Corporation
Crown Corporate Center
2870 Gateway Oaks Drive,Suite 300
Sacramento,CA 95833
Tel: 916.679.2000
Fax:916.679.2900 K:\WprocessV5 BP ARCO\02168\2005 System lnstallation\SVE-AS Workplan.doc
