A minimum of one soil sample from each boring drilled will be submitted for analysis to the
Sequoia Analytical Laboratory in Morgan Hill, California. Samples will be analyzed for GRO,benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), methyl tert-butyl ether(MtBE), tert-butyl alcohol (TBA),
di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (ELBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-
dichloroethane(1,2-DCA),ethylene di-bromide(EDB),and ethanol by EPA Method 8260B.
Waste Disposal
Soil waste generated during drilling and construction activities will be placed in a labeled, closed-top
soil bin and stored on site, pending disposal. A composite soil sample will be collected from the soil
cuttings and submitted to the Sequoia Analytical Laboratory in Morgan Hill, California, to be analyzed
for GRO by EPA Method 8015B (preparation EPA Method 5030), BTEX by EPA Method 8260B
(preparation EPA Method 5030), and lead by EPA Method 6000/7000 series.
Waste-water generated during field activities will be placed in labeled, sealed, 55-gallon drums and
stored on site pending disposal.
Permitting
SJCEHD and the City of Stockton require that permits be obtained before the drilling and installation of
monitoring and SVE /AS wells. An air permit also will be required from the SJVUAPCD. URS will
obtain the appropriate permits from the SJCEHD,the City of Stockton, and SJVUAPCD.
Project Schedule
URS currently estimates system installation and completion by the end of September 2005. A project
schedule for SVE/AS system installation is included as Figure 4. Currently, the design is complete and
permitting and procurement has started.
K:\Wprmess\JS BP ARCO\02168\2005 System Installation\SVE-AS WorkplanAm
