F <br /> I <br /> • Date July 16, 1998 <br /> I <br /> ARCO QUARTERLY STATUS REPORT <br /> Facility No 02168 Address 441 Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> ARCO Environmental Engineer Kyle Christie <br /> Consulting Co/Contact Person Pinnacle/Matt Turner <br /> Consultant Project No 20805-146 011 <br /> Primary Agency/Regulatory ID No Ron Rowe, San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> WORK PERFORMED THIS QUARTER (First 1998): <br /> i <br /> 1 Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-7 and submitted for <br /> laboratory analysis <br /> 2 EMCON conducted routine operation and maintenance (O&M) of the soil vapor extraction (SVE) <br /> remediation system <br /> 3 EMCON collected air samples from the SVE system on a monthly basis to evaluate system <br /> performance <br /> 4 EMCON pulsed the SVE system in January and February 1998 to evaluate its effectiveness <br /> 5 Notified San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) in a letter dated April 8, 1998, that <br /> the SVE system will be shut down because soil vapor concentrations influent to the system did not <br /> rebound after a 3-week shutdown Benzene levels in influent soil vapor continued to decline to non- <br /> detectable levels <br /> WORK PROPOSED FOR NEXT QUARTER (Second 1998) <br /> 1 EMCON will continue to perform quarterly groundwater monitoring for ARCO The next sampling <br /> event is tentatively scheduled for May 1998 Groundwater samples will be collected and analyzed for <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) using U S Environmental Protection Agency <br /> (USEPA) Method 8015, and for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTE)) and <br /> methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) using USEPA Method 8020 As discussed in the February 18, 1998, <br /> meeting between SJCPHS, ARCO, and EMCON, groundwater samples from wells not previously <br /> analyzed for oxygenates will be analyzed during the second quarter sampling event Therefore, <br /> wells MW-1 through MW-3, MW-5, and MW-7 will be analyzed for tertiary butanol, MTBE, di- <br /> isopropyl ether, ethyl tertiary butyl ether, and tertiary amyl methyl ether, using USEPA Method 8260 <br /> SAC'N\PJ0\080%8051461 1AS-99Wusmer 1 P <br /> Rev 0,7/16/98 <br />
