rIl
Mr Kyle Christie Project 0805-146 03
a November 28, 1995
Page 4
from 1,400 ppb in well MW-7 to 11,000 ppb in well MW-3 Trichloroethene was detected
in well MW-1 at a concentration of 26 ppb and 1,2-dichloropropane was detected in well
MW-6 at a concentration of 13 ppb All other HVOCs results were below laboratory
detection linuts Nonpolar oil and grease were detected in well MW-2 at a concentration
of 8,100 ppb, and in well MW-6 (located off site and upgradient) at a concentration of
21,700 ppb (see Table 2) As requested by SJCPHS in May 1995, HVOC analyses will be
performed on a semiannual bans (during the first and third quarters of each year)
Concentrations of TPHG and benzene are shown on Figure 2
ACTIVITIES PERFORMED DURING THE THIRD QUARTER
• EMCON performed quarterly groundwater sampling
• EMCON compiled and evaluated groundwater monitoring data
• EMCON began preparation of an Interim Sort Remediation Plan (ISRP)
associated with the removal of the underground storage tanks
ANTICIPATED WORK
o ARCO will continue to perform quarterly groundwater monitoring The next
sampling event is tentatively scheduled for November 1995 Because wells
MW-2 and MW-5 are located within the dissolved hydrocarbon plume and other
nearby monitoring wells provide lateral definition, EMCON recommends these
wells be discontinued from quarterly sampling
• EMCON will collect groundwater samples that will be analyzed for TPHG and
BTEX In addition, samples collected from wells MW-2 and MW-6 will be
analyzed for TOG
• EMCON will finalize and subrmt the ISRP to the appropriate regulatory
agencies
CONCLUSIONS
The direction of groundwater flow during the August 15, 1995, sampling event was toward the
northeast to southeast, which is generally consistent with previous sampling events Dissolved
. gasoline hydrocarbons were detected in samples from all wells TOG was detected in the
samples collected from wells MW-2 and MW-6 No other samples were analyzed for TOG
SAC1N IP7010805V08051460 3CS-95\pas 1
