The supplemental <br /> investigation consisted of installing two offsite gmundwater monitoring wells and collecting <br />' soil samples Groundwater monitoring consists of measuring depths to groundwater, <br /> collecting groundwater samples from the wells for subjective and laboratory analyses, and <br /> evaluating the groundwater gradient and direction of groundwater flow beneath the site <br /> i <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> RESNA observed drilling of four soil borings (B-1 through B-4) at the site in July 1991 <br /> during a Preliminary Tank Replacement Assessment investigation. Residual gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from the borings. The site was added <br /> to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division pilot <br /> program on August 5, 1991 <br /> In April and May 1992, RESNA observed drilling of eight additional soil borings (B-5 <br /> through B-12) and installation of three groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW- <br /> 3) and three vapor extraction wells (VW-1 through VW-3) Gasoline hydrocarbons were <br /> detected in samples collected from the borings.
