MAWAWRVR i <br /> Working to Restore Nature <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive, Suite 200 <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916) 852-6690 <br /> Fax (916) 852-6688 <br /> September 14, 1993 <br /> Mr Chuck Carmel <br /> ARCO Products Company <br /> P O Box 5811 <br /> San Mateo, California 94402 <br /> Subject Status Report, Second Quarter 1993, for ARCO Service Station No 2168, 441 <br /> Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> Mr. Carmel: <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), RESNA Industries (RESNA) has <br /> prepared this status report for work conducted during the second quarter 1993 groundwater <br /> monitoring event at the subject site (see Plate 1) Work consisted of measuring the depths <br /> to groundwater in the wells and collecting groundwater samples for subjective and laboratory <br />' analyses Field work was conducted by EMCON Associates (EMCON) of Sacramento, <br /> California EMCON was contracted by ARCO, EMCON subsequently forwarded their field <br /> notes and the laboratory reports to RESNA Data obtained from EMCON are presented <br /> in the appendix to this report RESNA used these data to monitor the concentrations of <br /> dissolved hydrocarbons in groundwater and to evaluate the direction and gradient of <br /> groundwater flow beneath the site <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> RESNA observed drilling of four soil borings (B-1 through B-4) at the site in July 1991 <br /> during a Preliminary Tank Replacement Assessment investigation. Residual gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from the borings Because <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil, ARCO requested the site be added to the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division pilot program on August 5, <br /> 1991 <br /> In April and May 1992, RESNA observed drilling of eight additional soil borings (B-5 <br /> through B-12) and installation of three groundwater morutoring wells (MW-1 through MW- <br /> 3) and three vapor-extractton wells (VW-1 through VW-3) Gasoline hydrocarbons were <br /> detected in samples collected from the borings Total oil and grease (TOG), halogenated <br /> volatile organic compounds, and polychlorinated biphenyls were not detected in the samples <br /> analyzed, however, total extractable hydrocarbons were detected <br /> 0712ccar <br /> 31009-9 <br /> E <br />
