Working To Restore Nature <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916)852-6690 <br /> Fax (916) 852-6688 <br /> January 7, 1993 <br /> Mr Chuck Carmel <br /> ARCO Products Company <br /> P O Box 5811 <br /> San Mateo, California 94402 <br /> Subject Status of Environmental Investigation and Ground-Water Monitoring, Third <br /> Quarter 1992 at ARCO Service Station No 2168, 441 Charter Way, Stockton, <br /> California <br /> Mr Carmel. <br /> I <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), RESNA Industries (RESNA) is <br /> reporting on the status of environmental work conducted at the subject site (shown on Plate <br /> 1) during the third quarter 1992 Work included measuring the depths to ground water 1n <br /> the wells and collecting ground-water samples for subjective and laboratory analyses This <br /> work was conducted to monitor the concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons in ground <br /> water and to evaluate the direction and gradient of ground-water flow beneath the site <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> RESNA observed the drilling of four soil borings (B-1 through B-4) at the site in July 19911 <br /> during a Preliminary Tank Replacement Assessment investigation Residual gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from the borings Because <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil, ARCO requested the site be added to the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS-EHD) pilot <br /> program on August 5, 1991 <br /> In April and May 1992, RESNA observed the drilling of eight additional soil borings (B-5 <br /> through B-12) and installation of three ground-water morirtoring wells (MW-1 through MW- <br /> 3) and three vapor-extraction wells (VW-1 through VW-3) Gasoline hydrocarbons were <br /> detected in samples collected from the borings, the highest concentration of total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) was 160 parts per million (ppm) Total oil and grease <br /> (TOG), halogenated volatile organic compounds, and polychlorinated biphenyls were not <br /> detected in the samples analyzed, however, total extractable hydrocarbons were detected <br /> 102&-car <br /> 31009-6 <br /> w <br />
