FAWALAIFAM <br /> Working to Restore Nature <br /> (440 West Charter Way, Stockton, California) directly south of the ARCO station, 11 <br /> monitoring wells are present (Groundwater Technology, October 9, 1990) and one <br /> monitoring well is located near the Chevron Service Station southwest of the ARCO station <br /> (Plate 2) <br /> 3.0 REGIONAL GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> The site is underlain by the Modesto Formation, which is composed of alluvial sediments <br /> that ranging from silt to gravel (Marchand and Allwardt, 1977) The Modesto Formation <br /> dips gently to the west (Wagner, et al , 1981) <br /> The site is in the Eastern San Joaquin County Ground-Water Basin which has been <br /> developed for intensive irrigation, domestic, industrial, municipal, and stock use (California <br /> Department of Water Resources, 1980) Based on information provided by San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department (1986), seasonal high for static groundwater is <br /> approximately 30 feet below surface grade (bsg). Based on depth to water in wells at the <br /> Texaco Station (440 West Charter Way, Stockton, California) directly south of the ARCO <br /> station, the depth to groundwater in April 1989 was 29 to 30 feet bsg (Groundwater <br /> Technology, August 15, 1989) Groundwater measured in monitoring well MW-1 at the <br /> Texaco site on September 1, 1989,was 32 57 feet bsg (Groundwater Technology, September <br /> 12, 1989) The direction of groundwater flow beneath the Texaco site was toward the east <br /> (Groundwater Technology, August 15, 1989). <br /> 3100¢10 3 <br />
