10-MON, <br /> Texaco Refining and Marketing Inc. <br /> April 7, 1989 <br /> 202/150-4150 <br /> ENCOUNTERING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS <br /> Personnel encountering a hazardous situation shall instruct <br /> others on site to evacuate the vicinity immediately and call the <br /> Project Manager, the Site Safety Officer, or, in their absence, <br /> the Regional Health and safety Director for instructions. <br /> The site must not be re-entered until the situation has been <br /> corrected. <br /> PROCEDURES FOR INJURY <br /> 1. Call for ambulance/medical assistance, if necessary. Notify <br /> the receiving hospital of the nature of physical injury or <br /> chemical overexposure. <br /> 2. Notify the Project Manager and Site Safety Officer. If the <br /> injury is minor, proceed to administer first aid and notify <br /> the Site Safety Officer. <br /> EMERGENCY TREATMENT <br /> In all cases of chemical overexposure, follow standard <br /> procedures for poison management, first aid, and, if applicable, <br /> cardiopulmonary resuscitation. When transporting an injured <br /> persc,% to a hospital, bring this site safety plan to assist <br /> medical personnel with diagnosis and treatment. Four different <br /> routes of exposure and their respective first aid/poison manage- <br /> ment procedures are outlined in First Aid Section, page 11. <br />
