Exhaust hoods should <br /> have >100 LFM face velocity and be designed to capture heavy vapors. <br /> Protective Clothing or Equipment': <br /> o To prevent repeate or prolonged skin contact with the liquid, use <br /> impervious clothing, gloves, face shields, (eight-inch minimum), <br /> splash-proof safety goggles, and other appropriate protective <br /> clothing. <br /> o Place clothing contaminated with the liquid in closed containers <br /> for storage until it can be discarded or until provision is made <br /> for the removal of the chemical from the clothing. If the <br /> clothing is to be laundered or otherwise cleaned to remove the <br /> chemical , the person performing the operation should be informed <br /> of the chemical 's hazardous properties and ways to minimize <br /> exposure. <br /> o A safety shower should be provided within the immediate work area <br /> for emergency use where I iquid may contact the employees body. <br /> o An eyewash fountain should be provided within the immediate work <br /> area for emergency use where the liquid may contact the employee 's <br /> eyes. <br /> SECTION XI.
