(GTI) , which summarizes information -needed to
commenca a subsurface environmental investigation at the above
referenced site (Figure 1) . This work plan is being submitted in
response to a request from the San Joaquin Local Health District
(SJLHD) and is authorized by Texazo Refining and Marketing Inc.
In October 1988, GTI responded to a work request by Texaco
Refining and Marketing Inc. to sample and analyze soil, following
guidelines established by the California Regional Water Quality
Control Board - Central Valley Region (CRWQCB-CVR) . This request
resulted after two product dispensers were removed in preparation
for iew construction and hydrocarbon impacted soil was noted
(Pigure 2) .
Samples were submitted to an analytical laboratory and analyzed
for benzene, toluene, etbylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) , and total
petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline and diesel by Modified
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 5030/8015/8020.
Soil sampled beneath pump one was found to be less than Practical
Quantitation Levels (<PQL) according to the EPA Federal Register,
november 13, 1985, page 46906. Soil sampled beneath pump two was
found to contain total BTEX of 900 parts per million (ppm) , TPH
as gasoline of 5,700 ppm and TPH as diesel <PQL (Appendix 1) .
Offices throWhout the VS..Canada and Varseas
