Rs <br /> • CAMBRIA <br /> Sod Types Encountered Soil types encountered while drilling the borings consisted <br /> primarily of silt and clay with lesser amounts of sand <br /> (Appendix B) <br /> Soil Chemical Analyses Selected soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), fuel oxygenates (methyl <br /> tertiary butyl ether [MTBE], tertiary amyl methyl ether, tertiary <br /> butyl alcohol, di-isopropyl ether, ethyl tertiary butyl ether), and <br /> lead scavengers (1,2-dichloroethane [1,2-DCA] and <br /> 1,2-dibromoethane) by EPA Method 8260B <br /> Groundwater Analyses Groundwater samples were analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, fuel <br /> oxygenates, and lead scavengers by EPA Method 8260B <br /> Well Destruction: Groundwater monitoring well MW-16 was destroyed by over <br /> . drilling with 10-inch hollow-stem stem auger, the casing was <br /> removed, and the hole was back filled with neat cement <br /> Soil Disposal• Soil cuttings generated during the well destruction activity were <br /> stored onsite, placed on, and covered with plastic sheeting The <br /> soil was sampled and profiled for disposal The soil cuttings <br /> sample results are contained in Appendix C The soil will be <br /> transported to Allied Waste Industries' Forward Landfill in <br /> Manteca, California for disposal upon approval <br /> HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN SOIL <br /> Soil samples from boring CPT-5 were collected at 105, 116, and 125 fbg to further assess the <br /> vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil in the vicinity of the suspected source area <br /> TPHg was detected at 116 fbg at a concentration of 9 6 parts per million (ppm) and was not <br /> detected in the 105 or 125 fbg samples Benzene was detected only in the 105 and 116 fbg soil <br /> samples at concentrations of 0 013 ppm and 0 064, respectively No fuel oxygenates or lead <br /> scavengers were detected in any of the soil samples from boring CPT-5 <br /> No gasoline constituents were detected in the soil sample from boring CPT-6 at 10 fbg <br /> 1399 3 <br />
