� a <br /> QUARTERLY SUMMARY REPORT <br /> Texaco Service Station <br /> 440 West Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> Third Quarter, 1994 <br /> HISTORY OF INVESTIGATIVE AND REMEDIAL ACTIONS <br /> In October 1988, two pump islands were removed and the area underneath one island <br /> was excavated In May 1989, an initial subsurface investigation consisted of the <br /> drilling of fifteen soil borings and one angle boring Eleven groundwater monitoring <br /> wells (MW-1 through MW-1 1) were installed into eleven of the fifteen borings A soil <br /> vapor extraction pilot test was conducted in May 1991 using monitoring wells MW-1 , <br /> MW-4, and MW-5 to extract vapors Wells MW-2, MW-3, and MW-9 were used as <br /> vapor monitoring points Vapor extraction lines laid beneath the station building prior <br /> to building remodeling were also tested Four nested vapor extraction wells were <br /> installed in April 1992 A soil vapor extraction pilot test using the vapor extraction <br /> wells was conducted in June 1992 Five additional groundwater monitoring wells <br /> (MW-13 through MW-17) were installed in September 1993 An interim soil <br /> remediation work plan, application to construct, and permit to operate a soil vapor <br /> extraction and emission control system (thermal/catalytic oxidizer) was submitted in <br /> September and approved in November 1993 <br /> WORK PERFORMED DURING THIS QUARTER <br /> Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling was performed Construction <br /> commenced for the installation of a vapor extraction system using a thermal oxidizer <br /> CHARACTERIZATION STATUS <br /> The extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater has not been <br /> delineated Commingling hydrocarbon plumes with adjacent properties appear to exist <br /> REMEDIATION STATUS <br /> A soil vapor extraction and emission control system is being installed at the site <br /> WORK TO BE PERFORMED NEXT QUARTER <br /> Continue quarterly monitoring and sampling to record fluctuations in groundwater <br /> elevation and hydrocarbon concentrations Finish installing vapor extraction system <br /> • in October then operate equipment after permit to operate is received <br /> COMPANY CONTACT Dave Heinrich (916) 966-8130 <br />
