440 West Charter Way, Stockton, California December 16, 1993 <br /> Texaco Environmental Services Page 2 <br /> 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Additional assessment work at the site included the installation of five off-site groundwater <br /> monitoring wells Two down-gradient wells are located east of the site (MW-15 and MW-17), and <br /> three other penmeter wells are located to the west (MW-13) and south of the site (MW-14 and <br /> MW-16) (Figure 2) The individual work steps were completed as follows <br /> • Obtained permits from San Joaquin County and the City of Stockton for drilling and <br /> installing groundwater monitoring wells <br /> ■ Drilled and sampled five soil borings to further define the limits of <br /> hydrocarbon-impacted soil and to accommodate groundwater monitoring well <br /> installation <br /> ■ Submitted selected soil samples to a state-certified analytical laboratory for analysis <br /> of benzene, toluene, ethyibenzene and xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPH-G) by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) <br /> methods 5030/8020/modified 8015 <br /> • Collected soil samples from the stockpiled soil for analysis of BTEX/TPH-G <br /> • Performed third-quarter groundwater monitoring and sampling that included the new <br /> monitoring wells <br /> ■ Prepared this report summarizing the work performed and results of the additional <br /> assessment <br /> 2 1 Soil Borings <br /> On September 1-3, 1993, five 51 5400t borings (MWs-13-17) were drilled at the locations shown in <br /> Figure 2 The borings were drilled with a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch-diameter, <br /> steam-cleaned, hollow-stem augers The drilling was supervised by a field geologist working under <br /> the direction and supervision of a State of California registered geologist Soil was logged at 5-feet <br /> intervals and at Inhologic changes by the field geologist in accordance wrth the Unified Soil <br /> Classification System All soil generated during the drilling operation was placed on and covered <br /> with plastic sheeting and remained on site until further characterization for disposal was completed <br /> 25695UM RPT r�1 <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> ���TECHNOLOGY <br />
