Charter Way, Stockton, CA
Attached Soil Stockpile Analytical Results and Location Map
Dear Mr. Knoll:
Attached you will find preliminary analytical results for samples taken from soil stockpiles at the subject
site that were generated during recent excavation activities. You will also find attached a site map that
shows the locations of these stockpiles at the site.
As described in Touchstone Developments(Touchstone)Corrective Action Plan dated August 30, 1996,
• Chevron intends to remediate hydrocarbon impacted soil onsite by aeration. Aeration of stockpiled soil
will proceed as soon as permission is granted by the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control
District(SJVUAPCD). Aeration will be performed according to those conditions specified by the
SJVUAPCD permit. The attached analytical results were included with the aeration permit application.
Permit issuance is expected within the week. In conversations with the SJVUAPCD, Chevron has learned
that an aeration schedule of 120 cubic yards per day will be imposed. Considering that there are
approximately 800 cubic yards of soil stockpiled at the subject site,it is anticipated that the aeration
process should take about two weeks;weather permitting. Upon completion, aerated soil will be sampled
discretely every 25 cubic yards. With approval from your agency, Chevron will then reuse the aerated soil
onsite as backfill material.
Hopefully, this information will satisfy those requirements for public notification. If you have any
questions or comments, I can be reached at(510)842-8695.
Sincerely,
J
Brett L.Hunter
Environmental Engineer
Site Assessment and Remediation
Attachment
• cc: Elizabeth Thayer, Central Valley RWQCB, Sacramento, CA
Mrs. Pearl Myer, 1120 South Hunter Street, Stockton, CA 95206
