0 0
ARCADIS BBL Ms. Victoria McCartney
August 31, 2007
February 1998, and have typically ranged between approximately 18 to 24 feet below
grade since 1999. Therefore the current screen length of 10 feet, and screen interval
of 17 to 27 feet below grade is appropriate for the purpose stated above.
It is unclear what specific field data will be used and how it will be utilized to
achieve the desired investigation objectives when installing these wells.
Depth to water level measurements will be taken from the existing monitoring well
network to approximate the depth to the water table on the day of well installation.
Soil lithology observed in the deep soil boring will also be reviewed prior to well
installation to assess the soil unit to be screened in the shallow wells, and determine
an appropriate separation of the base of the screen, and the sand unit commonly
observed at 30 feet below grade.
...EDH directs that groundwater samples collected from the new wells also be
analyzed for df -isopropyl ether (DIPE) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) during the
initial sampling event.
The initial round of groundwater samples collected from the four proposed monitoring
well clusters will be analyzed for DIPE and EDB in addition to the list of analytes in
the Work Plan, as requested by the County. If DIPE and EDB are not detected
during the initial groundwater sampling event, these compounds will be omitted from
the analyte list for future sampling events for all monitoring wells as per the County's
comment letter.
If you have any questions or comments regarding the contents of this letter, please
contact either David Evans of ARCADIS BBL at 916.857.0124 extension 226 or by e-
mail at david.evans@arcadis-us.com or David Lay of ARCADIS BBL at
315.671.9197 or by e-mail at David.Lay@arcadis-us.com.
Sincerely,
n -
ARCADIS U.S., Inc.
( No.57358
David W.
