' 0 0
ARCADIS BBL Ms. Victoria McCartney
July 12, 2007
' Based on the results of second quarter 2007 groundwater monitoring and sampling
event, groundwater is anticipated at a depth of approximately 20 feet bgs.1herefore,
' ARCADIS BBL proposes the installation of four monitoring well clusters consisting of
a shallow well and deep wells as described below.
Site Specific Health and Safety Plan
As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard
"Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 Code of
Federal Regulations Section 1910.120), and by California Occupational Health and
Safety Administration (Cal -OSHA) "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency
Response" guidelines (California Code of Regulations Title 8, Section 5192),
' ARCADIS BBL will prepare a site-specific health and safety plan (HASP) prior to
commencement of fieldwork. Field staff and contractors will review the HASP before
beginning field operations at the site.
Permitting
' Applicable permits will be obtained from the City of Stockton and the County as
necessary, prior to commencing field activities.
' Underground Utility Line Locating
Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified at least 48 hours before drilling
activities to identify public utilities in the vicinity of the proposed borings. In
conjunction with the USA, a private utility locating company will be utilized to further
evaluate boring locations relative to underground utilities.
' - Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation
Eight monitoring wells (four shallow and four deep) will be advanced at the locations
' shown on Figure 1. Prior to drilling, each location will be hand cleared using either an
air knife or hand auger to a minimum depth of 8 -feet 1 -inch (utility clearance depth)
bgs. It is anticipated that the shallow zone wells will be screened at an approximate
' depth interval of 17 to 27 feet bgs and the deep zone wells will be screened at an
approximate depth interval of 50 to 60 feet bgs. The exact depths of the well screen
intervals will be determined in the field based on the soil Iithology observed in the
' deep soil borings to be sampled continuously, as described below.
Page:
2/5
GOO I I0OfA70LP0A_M7111W_WakR
