Ms Victoria McCartney <br />' 07/28/06 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> • <br />' Agency (CaIEPA) procedures outlined in Representative Sampling of Groundwater for Hazardous <br /> Substances(CaIEPA, 1995) <br />' A three-well-volume purging and sample technique, using a decontaminated stack pump and disposable <br /> bailers were used for groundwater purging and sample collection Field parameters were measured after <br /> each well volume using the following series of activities and sampling protocols <br /> 1 • During the purge cycle, groundwater field parameter measurements consisting of specific <br /> conductance,pH, and temperature were measured using a groundwater water-quality meter <br /> • At least three times the volume of standing water was purged from the monitoring well Field <br /> parameters were recorded on a well volume basis <br />' • After the purge cycle was complete, a groundwater sample was collected for analysis with a <br /> disposable polyethylene bailer and transferred to the appropriate laboratory-supplied sample <br />' containers prefilled with preservative <br /> Groundwater monitoring and sampling field data sheets are presented in Attachment 1 Purge water and <br />' equipment decontamination water generated during the sampling event were containerized for offsite <br /> disposal <br /> Laboratory Analysts <br />' Subsequent to collection, samples were packed on ice, cooled to approximately 4° centigrade, and <br /> shipped under appropriate chain-of-custody protocols for analysis to Lancaster Laboratories (Lancaster) <br /> I of Lancaster Pennsylvania, a California Department of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory <br /> Analyses included the following parameters <br /> I • total petroleum hydrocarbons in the gasoline range [TPH-G (C6-CIO)], total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in the diesel range [TPH-D (C,o-C28)], total petroleum hydrocarbons in the motor <br /> oil range [TPH-MO (C16-C36)], and methanol by United States Environmental Protection Agency <br /> (USEPA)Method 8015, <br /> • benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX)by USEPA Method 8260B, and <br /> i • tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl alcohol (DIPE), <br /> ethyl tertiary butyl alcohol (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-dichloroethane <br /> (1,2-DCA), ethylene dibromide (EDB), and ethanol by USEPA Method 8260B r <br /> iQuality assurance/quality control samples inclusive of trip blanks were also submitted for laboratory <br /> analysis A laboratory supplied trip blank accompanied each sample delivery group Analytical results <br /> i for the quarterly groundwater monitoring event are included as attachments to the G-R Groundwater <br /> Monitoring& Sampling Report, (Attachment 1) <br /> i <br /> i <br /> • <br /> 022603054 doc <br /> i BLASLAND, BOUCK& LEE, INC <br /> an ARCADIS company <br />
