chevron <br /> a Chevron <br /> • <br /> Chevron Products Company <br /> 6001 Bollinger Canyon:Road <br /> February 28 1997 Building L <br /> San Ramon CA 94583 <br /> PO Box 6004 <br /> San Ramon CA 94583 0904 <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll Marketing—Sales West <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Phone 510 842 9500 <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> Re Chevron Station# 9-2033, 508 W Charter Way, Stockton, CA <br /> Attached Groundwater Monitoring Report(Blaine Tech, 12118196) <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> Please find attached a report dated December 18, 1996, which was prepared by Chevron's consultant, <br /> Blaine Tech Services, Inc (Blaine Tech), to describe the results of groundwater monitoring that was <br /> performed at the subject site on November 25, 1996 <br />• In November Blaine Tech gauged and sampled two of the three site-related wells Groundwater <br /> monitoring well MW-2 was inaccessible Groundwater samples collected were analyzed for the presence <br /> of TPHGas, BTEX constituents, and MTBE Samples collected from well MW-1 were also analyzed for <br /> waste oil constituents (i e TPHD, TOG SVOC's, HVOC's, and soluble metals) <br /> The dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations detected at wells MW-1 and MW-3 were consistent <br /> with those previously measured at these wells There were no dissolved hydrocarbons detected at well <br /> MW-2 There were detections of SVOC's, HVOC's, and TPHDiesel-range hydrocarbons measured at well <br /> MW-1 Total oil and grease was detected at 7,000 ppb There were 110 ppb of MTBE detected at well <br /> MW-1 There were no detections of MTBE reported at well MW-3 <br /> Throughout the groundwater monitoring period there have been several trends established Most notably <br /> is the absence of dissolved hydrocarbons or associated compounds at well MW-2 Also, information <br /> obtained from well MW-1 suggests that dissolved metals are not present in groundwater above their <br /> respective background levels Considering these trends, Chevron would like to propose the following <br /> modifications to the monitoring and reporting program at the subject site <br /> -Discontinue analyses for soluble metals at well MW-1 <br /> -Discontinue analyses for TPHG BTEX, and MTBE at well MW-2 <br /> - Analyze wells MW-2 and MW-3 for TPHD, HVOC's, and SVOC's for two consecutive <br /> quarters Reevaluate need to continue based on results <br />. - Report results semi-annually include potentiometric surface maps for two prior quarters in cacti <br /> report <br /> ,,r <br />
