ATTACHMENT A <br /> DRILLING AND SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> The procedures that will be used for drilling the borings and collecting soil samples are <br /> presented below <br />' . General safety procedures will be reviewed with the field investigation staff and <br /> subcontractors prior to commencement of field activities <br /> • Monitoring well installation permits will be obtained from San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS/EHD) <br /> 1 Encroachment permits will be obtained from the City of Stockton as appropriate <br /> Drilling Procedures <br /> • Two borings will be advanced to a depth of approximately 30 feet below ground <br /> surface (BGS) and one deep boring will be advanced to a depth of approximately <br /> 80 feet BGS Borings will be drilled using hollow stem auger or direct-push <br /> drilling equipment <br /> D Augers and drilling equipment will be washed prior to drilling each boring <br /> o Soil descriptions, sample type and depth, and related drilling information will be <br /> recorded on a boring log under the supervision of a State-registered geologist <br /> Soil Sampling Procedures <br /> • Borings will be sampled at 5 feet BGS and then in 5-foot increments until total <br /> depth <br /> • The drilling and sampling equipment will be washed in a detergent rinse, two clear <br /> water rinses, and a final deiomzed/distilled water rinse prior to drilling The <br /> equipment will dry air dried or dried using paper towels <br /> o Soil samples will be collected in acetate sleeves or in six-inch long, stainless steel <br /> or brass sample tubes inserted inside the samplers The sample tubes are to be <br /> either pre-washed by the supplier or washed using a bristle brush with a detergent <br /> rinse followed by two clear water rinses and a final deionized/distilled water rinse <br /> The sample tubes will be dry before use <br /> IT CORPORATION <br /> SACIIISACRFPIICOMMON1sacDP120021PRJ\PJ8188018800391A tab doc <br /> (01020000) <br /> A-1 <br />
