Mr Don Rodgers Proposal P96-050 31
. May 14, 1996
Page 5
Based on the analytical results, and assuming the water will be classifted as
nonhazardous, the water generated from the dulling activities and development will be
disposed of at a recycling facility
Task 3 - Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring and Reporting
EMCON will conduct four quarters of groundwater monitoring of the newly installed
monitoring well(s) Quarterly groundwater monitoring consists of measuring groundwater
elevations, measuring free product thickness (if present), collecting samples from the
groundwater monitonng well(s) once per quarter, and submitting groundwater sample(s)
to a state-certified laboratory for analysis of TPHG and BTEX In addition, MTBE will
be analyzed dunng the initial sampling event If MTBE is not detected in the groundwater
sample(s) dunng the initial sampling event, MTBE analyses will be discontinued
Groundwater samples will also be analyzed for CLHC on a semi-annual basis Based on
analytical results, and assuming the water will be classified as nonhazardous, the water
will be disposed of at a recycling facility twice per year during the quarterly monitoring
program
In addition to the groundwater monitonng, EMCON will prepare and submit quarterly
groundwater monitoring reports to Mr. Rodgers and the regulatory agencies The report
will include the tabulated depth to water measurements and analytical results from the
sampling of the monitonng well(s), gradient and direction of groundwater flow beneath
the site, and expected status of the site acts%ittes
Task 4 - Prepare A Corrective Action Plan
EMCON will prepare a CAP The report w ill summarize the results of the investigation
The report will present concentrations and distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons in soli
and groundwater beneath the site In addition, the CAP will address both soil and
groundwater remediation as descnbed in the CRWQCB's Tn-Regional Guidelines and
will provide a basis for obtaining bids for final remediation for the site
OPTIONAL UNIT TASKS (NOT INCLUDED IN TOTAL COST)
The following section presents optional unit tasks in the event that additional bonngs,
vapor extractions wells, etc are required to define the extent of contamination or to
prepare for feasibility studies Summary of unit costs are presented in Table 3 In
addition, EMCON has prepared unit cost prices to perforin a vapor extraction test The
following activities will not be implemented without the approval of Mr Rodgers
SACT,XP96-050 31-95drns
