1 f IT Corporation <br /> 1433 Norih Market Boulevard <br /> Sacramento, CA 95834-1943 <br /> Tel 916 928 3300 <br /> Fax 916 928 3341 <br /> the <br /> (t;group- JanuaryLGUU,d1FmLG VV Si Al�e�p�ec IT Croup <br /> Project 880039 IA <br /> I <br /> c;a <br /> Mr John Benedict C— <br />' San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control Board <br /> 4230 Kiernan Avenue, Suite 130 <br /> Modesto, California 95356 , <br /> Re Fourth Quarter 2000 Status Report for The Transmission Shop " <br /> 515 West Charter Way ' _ <br />' Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Benedict <br />' On behalf of The Transmission Shop,IT Corporation(TI) currently performs quarterly groundwater <br /> monitoring and remediation system operation and maintenance (O&M) at the site referenced above <br />' (see Figure 1) IT has prepared flus status report on the work conducted during the fourth quarter <br /> 2000 Work included groundwater momtonng and remediation system O&M <br /> i <br /> BACKGROUND <br />' The site is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Charter Way and Lincoln Street in <br /> Stockton, California(see Figure 1) The property is located in a commercial area and is currently <br /> being used as a transmission repair shop Based on information provided by the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), two underground storage tanks (USTs) were present, <br /> and the site was histoncally used as a retail service station with gasoline dispensing activities <br /> ceasing sometime in the 1950s It is unknown when one of the USTs and dispenser islands were <br /> removed Thorpe Oil of Lodi, California, removed the second UST in February 1996 Residual <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from beneath the UST However, total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), as diesel (TPH-d), and benzene were below <br />' laboratory detection limits The approximate UST locations relative to site structures are shown <br /> on Figure 2 <br />' In the vicinity of the subject property are several former or current UST facilities a former <br /> ARCO Service Station, a Chevron Service Station, and a Texaco Service Station Also located <br /> in the property vicinity is a former Colombo bakery Based on data collected from subsurface <br />' investigations performed at the former ARCO Service Station, Chevron Station, and Texaco <br /> Station (located at the comers of Charter Way and Lincoln Street), residual and dissolved <br /> hydrocarbons have been detected beneath these facilities <br /> Between September 17 and October 11, 1996, EMCON/OWT observed the drilling of six soil <br /> }� bonngs (B-1R through B-6R) One soil boring was converted to monitoring well MW-1R, three <br /> 1� <br /> IT CORPORATION <br /> SAC W IsacDP120011PRAPJ81880039 1a laa doc-00\ta 1 <br /> (01010000) <br />
