1 0 <br /> Mr Don Rodgers Project 880039 IA 0101 <br /> August 8, 2000 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 190 µg/L, respectively, and MTBE was below raised laboratory detection limits at <25 gg/L <br /> using USEPA Method 8020 Results of laboratory analyses are presented in the Table 1 <br /> REMEDIATION SYSTEM STATUS: SECOND QUARTER 2000 <br /> The remediation system consists of a Stealth Bobcat Catalytic Oxidizer rated at 100 cubic feet <br />' per minute (cfm) Startup of the remediation system occurred on February 3, 2000, under the <br /> supervision of regulatory personnel Subsequently, IT staff performs weekly system operation <br /> and maintenance (O&M), and collects influent and effluent air samples monthly in accordance <br /> with air board permit requirements <br /> Soil vapor samples were collected from influent and effluent sample ports on the treatment <br /> system on April 24, May 1, and June 5, 2000 The samples were submitted to <br /> Sequoia Analytical for analysis of TPHG and BTEX using USEPA Methods 8015 and <br /> 8020, respectively Influent concentrations of TPHG were reported to be 7,900, 4,650, and <br /> 4,810 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) The corresponding effluent TPHG concentrations <br /> were not detected above the laboratory reporting limit Benzene was not detected above the <br /> laboratory reporting limit in either of the influent or effluent samples Based on these <br /> certified laboratory results, the treatment system destruction efficiency was greater than <br /> 99 percent during the second quarter, 2000 <br /> As of June 30, 2000, the system was 65 percent operational and the average flow rate was <br /> 43 cfm Downtime resulted from automatic shutdowns when moisture was pulled into the <br /> system knockout tank From April 1 through June 30, 2000, the remediation system <br /> removed approximately 1,128 pounds of TPHG and 0 38 pounds of benzene Since the <br /> February 3, 2000 startup event, the system has removed approximately 1,422 pound of TPHG <br /> and 0 53 pounds of benzene System operational and performance data is summarized in <br /> Tables 1 through 3, located in Appendix D O&M field sheets, laboratory analytical reports <br /> and calculations are also presented in Appendix D <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> Analytical results of petroleum hydrocarbons were generally consistent with previous sampling <br /> events Groundwater elevation increased 310 feet from the previous sampling event <br />' (February 2000) <br /> IT will continue to perform quarterly groundwater sampling The next sampling event is <br /> tentatively scheduled for August 2000 IT will continue soil vapor extraction (SVE) system <br /> O&M O&M site visits will occur weekly and compliance sampling will occur monthly <br /> CP\\\SACRFPI\COMMON\Consulting\data\Shared\Profects\misc\8800391A as doe-981jt I IT Corporation <br />
