Fax 916 928 3341 <br /> V#Lyroup <br />' A Mew&r of The IT Croup <br />' October 25, 2001 <br /> Project 880039 1A <br /> Mr John Benedict <br />' San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control Board <br /> 4230 Kiernan Avenue, Suite 130 <br /> Modesto, California 95356 <br />' Re Second Quarter 2001 Status Report for The Transmission Shop <br /> 515 West Charter Way <br /> tStockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Benedict <br />' On behalf of The Transmission Shop, IT Corporation (IT) currently performs quarterly <br /> groundwater monitoring and remediation system operation and maintenance (O&M) at the <br /> lie site referenced above (see Figure 1) IT has prepared this status report on the work <br /> conducted during the second quarter 2001 Work included groundwater monitoring and <br />' remediation system O&M <br /> BACKGROUND <br />' The site is located at the north corner of the intersection of Charter Way and <br /> Lincoln Street in Stockton, California (see Figure 1) The property is located in a <br />' commercial area and is currently being used as a transmission repair shop Based on <br /> information provided by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), two <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) were present, and the site was historically used as a <br />' retail service station with gasoline dispensing activities ceasing sometime in the 1950s <br /> It is unknown when one of the USTs and dispenser islands were removed Thorpe Oil of <br /> Lodi, California, removed the second UST in February 1996 Residual hydrocarbons <br />' were detected in soil samples collected from beneath the UST However, total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), as diesel (TPH-d), and benzene were below <br />' laboratory detection limits The approximate former UST locations relative to site <br /> structures are shown on Figure 2 <br />' In the vicinity of the subject property are several former or current UST facilities a <br /> former ARCO Service Station, a Chevron Service Station, and a Texaco Service Station <br /> Also located in the property vicinity is a former Colombo bakery Based on data <br />' IT CORPORATION <br /> SAC 111SACRFP1\COMMON1sacDP120011PR]1P]818$00391A lac doc-Mit I <br />' (01010000) <br />
