Faa 916 928 3341 <br /> �g r oup Apri 1 ; o T{The IT Group <br /> Project 880039 IA <br />' Mr John Benedict <br />' San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control Board <br /> 4230 Kiernan Avenue, Suite 130 <br /> Modesto, California 95356 ' <br /> Re First Quarter 2001 Status Report for The Transmission Shop r <br /> 515 West Charter Way ' <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Benedict <br /> On behalf of The Transmission Shop, IT Corporation (IT) currently performs quarterly = <br /> groundwater monitoring and remediation system operation and maintenance (O&M) at the site <br /> referenced above (see Figure 1) IT has prepared this status report on the work conducted during <br /> the first quarter 2001 Work included groundwater monitoring and remediation system O&M <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Charter Way and Lincoln Street <br /> in Stockton, California (see Figure 1) The property is located in a commercial area and is <br /> currently being used as a transmission repair shop Based on information provided by the San <br />' Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), two underground storage tanks (USTs) were <br /> present, and the site was historically used as a retail service station with gasoline dispensing <br /> activities ceasing sometime in the 1950s It is unknown when one of the USTs and dispenser <br /> islands were removed Thorpe Oil of Lodi, California, removed the second UST in February <br /> 1996 Residual hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from beneath the UST <br /> However, total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), as diesel (TPH-d), and benzene <br />' were below laboratory detection limits The approximate UST locations relative to site structures <br /> are shown on Figure 2 <br />' In the vicinity of the subject property are several former or current UST facilities a former <br /> ARCO Service Station, a Chevron Service Station, and a Texaco Service Station Also located <br /> in the property vicinity is a former Colombo bakery Based on data collected from subsurface <br />' investigations performed at the former ARCO Service Station, Chevron Station, and Texaco <br /> Station (located at the corners of Charter Way and Lincoln Street), residual and dissolved <br />' hydrocarbons have been detected beneath these facilities <br /> IT CORPORATION <br /> SAC W�cf'p11Pro}ectsTrojects1880103911A1Quarterlys11gOl doc-001kt 1 <br /> (01010000) <br />
