The purpose of this <br /> investigation is to further assess the lateral_extent of petroleum constituents in deep groundwater <br /> zones beneath and east of.the site, and the.scope of work presented in this document will comply <br /> with SJCPHS/EHD and Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines. <br /> a Site Background <br /> Site Description: The subject:site is an active.Shell-branded service station located at 620 West <br /> Charter Way,:east of Interstate 5 in Stockton,,;Califomia (Figure 1). The site layout includes a <br /> service station building, six dispenser islands, an existing fuel underground storage tank (UST) <br /> complex,a former UST complex, and a car wash(Figure 2). <br /> Previous Investigations: During February:--X1989, Delta Environmental. Consultants (Delta) <br /> drilled eight soil borings to assess site conditions prior to UST removal and replacement <br /> activities. In November 1989, four USTs were excavated and removed. Soil samples were <br /> Oakland, CA collected from former tanks and product line trench excavations. <br /> San Ramon, CA <br /> Sonoma, CA <br /> Between December 1989 and January 1990,Delta installed groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 <br /> Cambria through MW-7. Underground piping was installed to wells MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, and <br /> Environmental <br /> Technology,Inc. MW-7 for future remediation.
