The investigation is intended to characterize the
distribution of petroleum constituents in soil and ground water beneath and adjacent to the site. This
report summarizes quarterly ground water sampling activities from August 1 through
November 15, 1991.
Quarterly ground water sampling conducted on October 30, 1991,included measurement of water levels
in the ten existing monitoring wells, checking for the presence of free-phase hydrocarbons or
hydrocarbon sheen, and collection of ground water samples for chemical analysis. Monitoring well
MW-2 could not be accessed on October 30; consequently,a water level measurement and sample were
not obtained until November 15. All field activities were performed in accordance with the procedures
described in Enclosure A.
WaterJuyrl A h FI w Dir i n m H r u1i GrUdicn
Ground water level measur lments recorded on October 30, 1991, are compiled in Table 1, along with
previous ground water level measurements. On October 30, 1991, depth to ground water in the
monitoring wells ranged from 30.97 (MW-1) to 38.75 (MW-10) feet below grade. Historic ground
water elevations in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-5, MW-6, MW-8, and MW-9, are graphically
illustrated in Figure 3. The ground water level measurements recorde A on October 30, 1991, indicate
that the direction of shallow groundwater flow varies across the site, but generally trends to the north
and northeast. Horizontal gradients range from approximately 0.02 to 0.1. A water table contour map
prepared from the October 30, 1991,data is included as Figure 4.
rw
If — t(o `q
Delta Delivers S4lu V)s
