Because
the pumping creates a surging action within the well screen, this is an effective method of deve!oping
monitoring wells. After development is completed, water samples will be collected from each well
using methods described in Appendix D,Section 1.7.
4.4 CheMjCAL,, nalvspr
y_ .4.]ll h I else
ry Based on the results of soil-sample screening, soil samples will be collected for chemical analysis.
Soil samples will be analyzed for BTEX, EDB, EDC, and TPH(using EPA Method 8264). These
analyses will aid in the characterization of the type of hydrocarbons present(gasoline or diesel fuel).
Soil samples collected from the boring located between the present and former waste oV tanks wil?
be analy:x•d for oil and grease using EPA Methods 503D and 503E.
4.4.2 rr n W r h m: ! n see
Groundwater samples collected will be subjected to the sample analyses described in Section 4.4.1
using EPA Method 8260. Laboratory analysis of soil and ground water samples generally requires 3
weeks. A summary reporL of the results, including information on subsurface geology, ground water
1xe
depth and flow direction, monitoring well construction details, and recommendations for further
assessment or remedial activities Ivill be prepared within 3 weeks after laboratory results are received.
