(Delta), was authorized by Shell Oil Company (Shell) to
conduct an assessment of soil and ground water conditions at the Shell service station located at 620
West Charter Way, Stockton, California. The investigation was initiated because the entire station
f°l facility and associated underground storage tanks and product lines were being replaced.
r
Petroleum constituents wen identified in soils and ground water at the site resulting from two source
E locations.Petroleum products have been identified in soils beneath the former pump islands and also
beneath the forme.*underground storage tanks. Free product has been identified floating nn the water
table beneath the former underground storage tanks; however, no free product has been detected
t beneath the former pump islands. Dissolved hydrocarbons have been detected in 7 of the 9
monitoring wells at the site. Based on this information, remedial action will be required at this site
to obtain closure of the soils and ground water underlying.the project site.
to To facilitate remediation in conjunction with construction of the new station,a pipe manifold system
was designed and instailed to connect all monitoring wells •xith detectable levels of dissolved
hydrocarbons through an underground piping system to a remedial equipment area located at the
ra southeast comer of the site before the site was resurfaced with new concrete.
I :
s Frachcal Solutions to Environmental Concerns
