SOIL MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR TANK REPLACEMENT <br />' 620 WEST CHARTER WAY <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br />' DELTA PROJECT NO 40-88-586 <br />' LO INTRODUCTION <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta), has been authorized to develop a soil management plan, <br />' document work, and direct soil sample collection during the tank replacement to be performed at the <br /> Shell service station located at 620 West Charter Way in Stockton, California The tank replacement is <br />' being conducted in conjunction with the reconstruction of the station building and site facilities <br />' 1.1 Purpose <br />' The purpose of this soil management plan is to <br /> • Establish a handling plan for excavated soils from tank replacement activities performed at the <br /> site (including establishment of sampling and analytical requirements for tank closure and soil <br /> disposal) <br /> • Obtain pre-approval from the San Joaquin Local Health District (Health District) prior to <br />' beginning the work, so that possible delays will be avoided, once the site work has begun <br />' 12 Scope of Work <br /> The following work is planned at the site <br /> • Excavation of the new tank area. The lateral dimensions of this excavation will be <br /> approximately 42 x 32 feet The excavation will be approximately 15 feet deep Approximately <br /> 900 cubic yards of soil will be generated from this excavation (including the expansion factor <br />' of removed soil) <br /> • Segregation of soils based on results of screening with an hNu phototonization detector (PID) <br />
