..tee ...r
Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2014 2:32 PM
To: 'Barton, Jim@Waterboards'; Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: Voice Message from AGE re: 701 East Charter Way concerns with 641 E. Charter Way
Jim,
Since I was not familiar with the site at 641 Charter Way, I took time to check groundwater gradient, well
locations, contaminants of concern, and contaminant concentrations at the site.
Nuel and I are waiting to hear from the State Board concerning rebound sampling at 701 Charter Way. If the
State Board agrees to rebound sampling at 701 Charter Way, we should include MW-11 in the sampling
schedule. If groundwater from MW-11 remains clean, then I don't think we need to worry about contamination
coming from 641 Charter Way. If groundwater contamination increases in MW-11, then we should talk about
possibly having ownership of MW-11 transferred to the responsible party at 641 Charter Way.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209) 468-9852
Email: vmccartneV(a).sjcehd.com
From: Barton, Jim@Waterboards [mailto:jim.barton@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2014 2:02 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]; Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: Voice Message from AGE re: 701 East Charter Way concerns with 641 E. Charter Way
Hi Vicki,
I spoke with Daniel this morning and do not share Daniel's concerns that the AGE rebound test will be
compromised if 641 E. Charter starts air sparging. If there is migration from 641 E. Charter Way, it should
show up in the west wells along the sidewalk at 641 E. Charter Way long before it reaches the 701 E.
Charter onsite monitoring or DPE wells.
However, I am open to recommending transfer of the west wells to 641 E. Charter Way prior to 701's
closure.
What do you think?
Thanks.
Jim Barton
4/15/2014
