29 June 2002
. AGE-NC Project No 97-0326
Ground water elevation contours based on the data for the January 2002 monitoring event are
Illustrated on Figure 2 The ground water flow direction was southeast with a gradient of 0 002 ft/ft
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
' TPH-g was detected in samples collected from MWI through MW3 at concentrations of 60,000
micrograms per liter (µg11), 55,000 pg/l and 140,000 µg11, respectively Benzene was detected in
samples from MWI through MW3 at concentrations of 2,200 pg/l, 11,000 pg/l and 17,000 pg/l,
respectively Toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected at concentrations as high as
20,000 µg/1, 45,000 gg/1 and 24,000 gg/l, respectively(MW3)
' MTBE was detected in ground water samples from MW 1 through MW3, the highest concentration
detected by EPA Method 8260B was 630 µg/l In MW3 No other oxygenated compounds were
detected In the samples analyzed
'
Analytical results of the ground water samples for the first quarter - 2002 monitoring event are
yt ' p
summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report(CTEL Project No CT214-0201038),QA/QC report
lie
and chain-of-custody form are Included in Appendix B
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
• The Inferred ground water flow direction at the site was southeast this quarter, which was
' more easterly than the south-southeast flow determined from eight previous monitoring
events The southeast to south-southeast ground water flow direction differs from historical
ground water flow directions at the adjacent site to the east (LISA), and at the Morita
' Brothers site at the southeast corner of East Charter Way and Grant Street, which have been
toward the east or northeast
' • High concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in ground water samples
collected from all three monitoring wells on the site(see Figures 3 to 5) BTEX compounds
and MTBE are at concentrations exceeding California's Maximum Contaminant Levels for
' these products in drinking water
• Neither the vertical nor horizontal extent of impacted ground water has been delineated at
' the site
•
1 Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
1
