' - September 1999
Quarterly Report
' K & S GAS & GROCERY
701 East Charter Way, Stockton, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Khaldoon Othman of K & S Gas & Grocery,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc (AGE) has prepared this Quarterly Report for the property located at 701 East Charter Way,
Stockton, California Ground water monitoring was performed on 29 September 1999 The site and
' the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1-Location Map Structures, well and boring locations
are illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan Background information was summarized in the Monitoring
Well Installation Report, dated 02 June 1999 and prepared by AGE
1
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
All field work was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for investigations of underground storage tank (UST) sites
•
21 MONITOR1N`G WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 29 June 1999, a Solmst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in
monitoring wells MWl through MW3, relative to the tops of the well casings An Ullage interface
probe was also used to check for the presence of free product in each well The ground water
elevations and gradient were determined from these data (Table 1)
After recording water level measurements, a two-stage submersible pump was used to purge each
' well of standing water The purge pump was placed near the top of the water column to remove
water trapped within the unscreened section of the well casing Approximately 9 to 12 gallons of
water (minimum of 3 well casing volumes) were removed from each well Ground water
' temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular purge-volume intervals during purging
using a Hydac water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in Appendix A Purged water was
stored on-site in labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved drums
' 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
The depth to ground water was measured in each well following purging to assure a minimum of
' 80% recharge prior to sampling Water samples were then collected using new disposable plastic
bailers Each water sample was transferred into 40-ml VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%
hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled,
placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to McCaznpbell Analytical, Inc
Adianced GcoEn%ironmrntal,Inc
