' 09 January 2004
AGE-NC Project No 97-0326
' tb = Total thickness of free product (-0 21 foot)
ds = Density of free product (gasoline at —0 75 g/ml)
d,, = Density of water (-1 0 gm/ml)
Ground water data is summarized on Table 1
t Ground water elevation contours based on the data for the October 2003 monitoring event are
Illustrated on Figure 2 The ground water flow direction was northeast with an average hydraulic
gradient of approximately 0 005 feet/feet This is the second consecutive quarter that the gradient
' has been in a northeasterly direction, rotated approximately ninety degrees from the south-southeast
gradient normally encountered at the site
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in samples collected from MW-2 and MW-3 at concentrations of 26,000
micrograms per liter(µg/1) and 76,000 µg/l, respectively
. BTEX compounds were detected in MW-2 and MW-3 The maximum benzene concentration was
detected In sample MW-2 at 9,600 µg/1, the maximum toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes
concentrations were detected in sample MW-3 at 7,600 µg/1, 8,800 µg/1 and 41,000 µg/1,
respectively
The fuel additives MTBE and 1,2-DCA were detected In samples MW-2 and MW-3, MTBE was
detected in samples MW-2 and MW-3 at concentrations of 32 µg/1 and 77 µg/1, respectively, and
1,2-DCA was detected at concentrations of 2 1 µg11, and 42 gg/l, respectively
No other fuel additives were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the samples analyzed
Analytical results of the ground water samples for the October 2003 monitoring event are
' summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report(CTEL Project No 214-0310187),QA/QC report and
chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix C
' 4 0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
• Fourth quarter 2003 was the second consecutive quarter that the groundwater flow direction
' at the site was towards the northeast, previous to third quarter 2003, ground water flow had
always been toward the south-southeast This change in gradient direction could be in
response to ground water levels In well MW-1 now being within the screened Interval of the
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
